Course map...

Course description...The race starts at the start of the quay in the town......

Mile1: Very fast start down pier road passing the Marina, flat and straight for 500 meters. Turn at Trident hotel onto O'Connell street towards the White Lady, small pull here (15M over 100M)....

Along Main Street, past the Lemon Leaf restaurant down to Guardwell. Turn left onto the Bandon Road passing St Multose church. Elevation starts to rise from here over the next 220 meters (at the 1.5 km mark) from approx. elevation of 20M up to the course high point of 36M just past the mile 1 marker.

Passing through the 1 mile mark, with a constant incline, you are running on the toughest part of the course.

Mile 2: Downhill & flat running for most of this mile, a drop of 30metres past the community school past the Commoge Marsh. Definitely the fastest segment of the course and great views of the Bandon River.

At the end of this hill, you turn left and head back towards Kinsale...

You pass the bridge for Garretstown...

From here on, traffic may or may not be an issue. Follow the race stewards instructions on the day.

As you enter Kinsale, you hit a very small hill and then you take a right.......

and continue on down the quay....

...to the finish line by Actons Hotel...

Overall.......First mile is the hardest and more so at the end of the end of it. It's pretty short though and there is plenty of flat and downhill running. Nice short race in the heart of Kinsale. Times should be reasonable.
